Boy or Girl?

So just now we were sitting in the sofa and wondering if the baby is a boy or a girl. So I said to the baby: "If you're a boy kick once, if you're a girl kick twice." Within the minute the baby kicked... once! So it must be a boy! Now good to know is that before I asked the question the baby was not kicking at all ;).

Alive and kicking

As dad to be I had my second contact with our child... finally (s)he started kicking hard enough so I could feel it. It's now almost five months and the little soccer player is kicking away. Li Yan could feel it since a month ago but finally we can share the feeling.

A different way

Somebody we know told Li Yan how she gave birth. Around 14 years ago she was working on the field and suddenly she was ready to go into labor. But instead of going to the hosipal she went home by herself. At home she put a big plastic over her bed and got some bowls of water. She layed on the bed and did everything by herself and after the baby was born she waited for someone to come home to cut the umbilical cord.
Now two night ago I told this story to a parent in school and she added that some people even bite the umbilical cord!
I hope we will make it to the hospital though.
